June 10th, 2009

smeepe & ceventiq will be present at the STB Marketplace in Berlin (can anyone tell me what STB stands for?!) on June 16 – 17th. Since we’ll be in town anyway, we’ve decided to host a little Charity Tweetup there on the evening of June 16th.

Where/When/Why:

Irish Harp Pub in Charlottenburg
Giesebrechtstr. 15

10629
Berlin, Germany

030 22328735

June 16th, starting at 7p (open end)

We’ll be raising money for the non-profit: Break the Cycle. The Safe Space (a project of BREAK THE CYCLE) is devoted to ending domestic and teen dating violence. Stand up, speak out and find your voice today!

Be sure to RSVP, so we know how many people are coming. Look forward to tweeting up with you then!

Your donations go directly to Break the Cycle:

smeepe Fans – We hear you

June 9th, 2009

First off, I want to thank everyone who has sent us feedback via email, our contact/faq forms, twitter, Facebook, and through our feedback widget.

Your feature requests, bug reports, and general feedback are extremely important to us. Each one is reviewed and discussed.

Because of your feedback, we’ve added more countries to our list including Italy, Spain, Canada, and Russia. We’ve also decided to change our “tags” system such that they will not be dynamically created, rather you’ll be able to control them yourself. We didn’t think you’d want to control them yourselves, but you do! That’s what we get for thinking! :-D

We’ve also fixed some browser-related issues, the upload images feature, as well as the zip code problem with the UK.

We’re already in the process of making the platform more social. We’ll write up a separate post to highlight all the cool stuff coming to the vendor profile.

Again, thank you to Corbin Ball, Julius Solaris, Kathy Strukel, Craig Cmehil, Lewis Fulkerson, Mark Brattle, Marilyn MacCollum, Swan, Jay Smethurst, Melissa, Kurt, Abakuya, John Brion, Teresa Peek, Meghan Lyon, Steve Hillanbrand, and Julie McKown for taking the time to send us your feedback! I apologize if I’ve missed anyone.

Please keep the feedback coming!

startupLUCKY Interview

June 5th, 2009

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Aronado at startupLUCKY. I think it was the funniest interview I’ve ever done. He brings the silliness out of me. But hey, life’s too short to be serious all the time, right? Hope you enjoy!

Corbin Ball

I had the pleasure of interviewing Corbin Ball this past Tuesday. Corbin is a well-known speaker, author, and consultant focusing on technology in the meetings and hospitality industries. Listen to the interview below to find out what he thinks the meetings industry needs and why he thinks smeepe is so intriguing!

Enjoy – Corbin Ball Interview

(Unfortunately, I’m not that great of an interviewer, sorry about that!)

smeepe.net Launches Call for Vendors Who Don’t Suck

June 1st, 2009

(Press Release)

–First 5,000 registered vendors receive free listings on smeepe.net–

Switzerland–June 1, 2009–Swiss-based cobaserv AG today announced the search is on for top vendors across the U.S., U.K. and Europe to sign up for its newest company, smeepe.net.  The free internet platform brings together the ability to search for vendors of every conceivable business planning and event service, as well as IT and Social Media.

Designed for users to be able to quickly and conveniently find the best vendor to meet business or personal planning, event and project needs, smeepe.net is free for users and free for the first 5,000 vendors who list their services.

“What’s significant is that smeepe.net is a powerful platform for users to rate vendors and to give feedback–positive and negative–to help others with their selection process,” said co-founder and CEO Danielle Grossi, who projects smeepe will become the Amazon of services.  “We’re looking for vendors who are outstanding in their category.  smeepe.net will not allow vendors to buy ratings or bold listings, and will not list vendors who suck!”
