What I’m Thankful For November 24th, 2009

In light of TweetsGiving 2009, I wanted to share with you all what I’m thankful for.
I’m most thankful for my husband, family, dog, and close friends. These are the people (and animals
) close to me that make life worth living. I’m so very thankful for life’s little luxuries that we take for granted everyday, such as running water, heat, a roof over my head, a car, electricity, telephones, Internet, and technology.
All of these things make life so much easier and help me stay in touch with my family and friends.
I’m thankful for the education we are provided and for the equal rights we have.
I’m thankful for all my successes and even more thankful for my mistakes and failures.
I’m thankful for everyone I know, because each of you has impacted me in some way.
I’m thankful for beautiful sunsets on the beach of my hometown.
I’m thankful for being in a position in my life where I can help OTHERS, that is truly the most rewarding.
I’m thankful for EpicChange for putting on this massive event, TweetsGiving.
There’s so much more that I’m thankful for…I could go on forever. What are you thankful for?

TweetsGiving 2009 November 22nd, 2009

In my last blog exactly 2 months ago (I know, shame on me), I mentioned TweetsGiving 2009. Well, it’s finally upon us! #TweetsGiving 2009 will kick off worldwide this Tuesday, November 24th. I’m so excited to take part in this event! Showing gratitude for all that I have and for all that this world has to offer always makes me feel good. On top of that, donating and giving to others who are in need is a very important part of my life. I feel honored to represent Frankfurt am Main, Germany this year.
We’re coming together this TweetsGiving to finish the project started by Epic Change in Tanzania last year. Over $10,000 was donated in a matter of 48 hours for TweetsGiving 2008! Let’s rally again this year, get that positive energy of gratitude flowing and help others in need! We have so much to be grateful for – once you start naming off the things you are grateful for, you just can’t stop – believe me!
If you can attend a live Gratitude Party – please do so. Ours will be in Frankfurt:
Date: November 25th, 2009, starting at 6p
Venue: theplacetobe
Address:
Weissadlergasse 3
60311 Frankfurt am Main
Germany
You can buy your tickets here ahead of time online for TweetsGiving FFM.
If you’re not able to attend a live Gratitude Party – then please help us rally online via Twitter this entire week! Our goal is to bring the Internet down with all our gratitude!!
Thank you for participating in any way that you can. We have so much and the best way to show our gratitude is of course being thankful for what we have and to help others who are less fortunate.
What the heck is TweetsGiving?

IMEX Frankfurt 2009 May 29th, 2009
IMEX Frankfurt 2009 is a wrap!
Although the expo was a bit smaller than last year, I had some great scheduled and impromptu meetings and chats with some amazing people. I had the pleasure of spending some time chatting with Samuel Smith, former Spotme employee and event tech advocate.
I also ran into the one and only Corbin Ball while listening to a presentation at the Slovakia Booth – they had some yummy appetizers there! I had the opportunity to tell him within 10 seconds what smeepe is and will definitely meet up with him again at EIBTM in Barcelona.
Chatting about MPI, World Education Conference, and MeetDifferent with MPI’s VP of Knowledge & Events, Vicki Hawarden, was fantastic! I will definitely be onboard at MeetDifferent in 2010.
Another great bunch of contacts I made were with the Ritz-Carlton crew, Deutsche Bahn Driver Service & Event Service, the entire Canadian booth team, and the Malaysia booth folks. They had an amazing band for their happy hour, American Journey.
Even though the show floor was a bit smaller and visitor traffic was less than last year, I felt like I had more time to discuss with exhibitors, which was a plus for me. There were only a few organizational things that I think could have been better, which I will definitely give as feedback to the organizers.
I’m excited to see you all again at IMEX 2010 (at our own booth!), and would definitely recommend newcomers join the fun!
Our next stop is the STB in Berlin, June 16 – 17th.
