New Vendor Categories February 26th, 2010
We’ve been hard at work on a new taxonomy (i.e. classification of vendors) over the past few weeks. It’s not as easy as it seems. We hope that our new vendor categories will enable more vendors to sign up, many of whom have contacted me directly, asking me to add a category for them. 
We’ve made the categories more general now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get specific. For example, if you are a marketing person or company focused on brand development and management, then you would register yourself under Marketing –> Marketing Consultant. Then, you would enter specific keywords or tags in your profile describing your specialty, for example, “brand management” or “brand development.”
Let us know what you think of the categories. Send us an email or submit feedback on the site if you feel we’ve missed a major category: info@smeepe.com
We’ve also added some more features for our vendors including service area definition, social settings, and the ability for you to also save vendors you think are interesting or with whom you may want to do business. More on that in future posts.

smeepe goes German! December 30th, 2009
Our platform has been translated into German! We’re so excited! We just can’t stop using these exclamation points!
We’re still in Beta – so please don’t be shy. Let us know if something’s broken or is not to your liking, there’s room for change and your feedback is the most important aspect.
We’re planning for more languages soon, but will stick with English and German for now.
Deutschland – melden Sie sich an!

Tags! Get yer Tags! September 17th, 2009
We’ve finally been able to fix our dynamic tagging feature so that the tags that automatically get assigned to your smeepe vendor profile, are correct. If this is not the case with your vendor profile, let us know!
As soon as we’re done with our phase two development, you will be able to control the tags yourself.

smeepe Fans – We hear you June 9th, 2009
First off, I want to thank everyone who has sent us feedback via email, our contact/faq forms, twitter, Facebook, and through our feedback widget.
Your feature requests, bug reports, and general feedback are extremely important to us. Each one is reviewed and discussed.
Because of your feedback, we’ve added more countries to our list including Italy, Spain, Canada, and Russia. We’ve also decided to change our “tags” system such that they will not be dynamically created, rather you’ll be able to control them yourself. We didn’t think you’d want to control them yourselves, but you do! That’s what we get for thinking! 
We’ve also fixed some browser-related issues, the upload images feature, as well as the zip code problem with the UK.
We’re already in the process of making the platform more social. We’ll write up a separate post to highlight all the cool stuff coming to the vendor profile.
