TweetsGiving 2009 November 22nd, 2009

In my last blog exactly 2 months ago (I know, shame on me), I mentioned TweetsGiving 2009. Well, it’s finally upon us! #TweetsGiving 2009 will kick off worldwide this Tuesday, November 24th. I’m so excited to take part in this event! Showing gratitude for all that I have and for all that this world has to offer always makes me feel good. On top of that, donating and giving to others who are in need is a very important part of my life. I feel honored to represent Frankfurt am Main, Germany this year.
We’re coming together this TweetsGiving to finish the project started by Epic Change in Tanzania last year. Over $10,000 was donated in a matter of 48 hours for TweetsGiving 2008! Let’s rally again this year, get that positive energy of gratitude flowing and help others in need! We have so much to be grateful for – once you start naming off the things you are grateful for, you just can’t stop – believe me!
If you can attend a live Gratitude Party – please do so. Ours will be in Frankfurt:
Date: November 25th, 2009, starting at 6p
Venue: theplacetobe
Address:
Weissadlergasse 3
60311 Frankfurt am Main
Germany
You can buy your tickets here ahead of time online for TweetsGiving FFM.
If you’re not able to attend a live Gratitude Party – then please help us rally online via Twitter this entire week! Our goal is to bring the Internet down with all our gratitude!!
Thank you for participating in any way that you can. We have so much and the best way to show our gratitude is of course being thankful for what we have and to help others who are less fortunate.
What the heck is TweetsGiving?

TweetsGiving & smeepe September 22nd, 2009

TweetsGiving is a twitter celebration of gratitude and giving created by Epic Change. Last year, the TweetsGiving team raised over $10,000 in 48 hours to build a classroom in Tanzania!
This year for TweetsGiving the team is planning an event series of 100+ fundraising events worldwide. These events should take place during the week of Thanksgiving in the US, which is on Thursday, November 26, 2009.
Danny Brown and I were talking about various twitter-based charity events, like the one he is running, 12for12k, and we got on the topic of TweetsGiving. He told me about his involvement for TweetsGiving this year and I immediately asked if I could join.
Stacey Monk and her team then asked if I’d be interested in being the point person for all TweetsGiving tweetups in Europe. I said – absolutely!
I will be hosting a TweetsGiving tweetup in either Darmstadt or Frankfurt the week of November 23rd.
If anyone else in Europe would like to host a TweetsGiving tweetup, please let me know. Can’t wait to see all my local Tweeps in Frankfurt!

smeepe & ceventiq will be present at the STB Marketplace in Berlin (can anyone tell me what STB stands for?!) on June 16 – 17th. Since we’ll be in town anyway, we’ve decided to host a little Charity Tweetup there on the evening of June 16th.

Charity Tweetup Tour – 1st Stop, Darmstadt May 14th, 2009
smeepe’s first stop on the Charity Tweetup Tour was in Darmstadt at the Weststadt Bar, yesterday, May 13th. We had a small turnout, but that’s kind of what I expected for our first one. We had a total of 10 guests (bummer that the other 8 didn’t end up making it!).

The first four of the worldwide Charity Tweetup Tour movement!
Thank you all for participating, retweeting, and donating to this Tweetup. Our Charity of Focus was ReadIndia.org.
A special thank you to our sponsors:
- expacklyMondo – Bottle of Bubbly
- Troubleshooter Media – Name Badges & smeepe banner
- amiando – Ticket Shop

The bread gave up early - LOL!
We look forward to seeing you all at stop #2 in Berlin, featuring the charity Break the Cycle. If you have a location suggestion, please let us know. Registration is open now!

Unfortunately we’ll need to cancel the rest of the Tweetup Tour until further notice. Hopefully we’ll soon have it back on track! Thanks for your support and keep giving!
smeepe and ceventiq are excited to announce our Tweetup Tour, starting in May going through the end of the year. The purpose of these tweetups is for all of us tweeps to get to know each other and to do something good for a charity in need at the same time.

We’ll be using amiando for the registration, so be sure to RSVP!
